The “Top 9” of Instagram has been a popular tool for the end of the year, and I think it’s an amazing way to reflect. This may be 2 years too late, but here it goes…

1. I ran a marathon.

Yes. 26.2 miles. It was long (duh), painful, brutal, beautiful, and above all, empowering. It taught me that I can do anything that I set my mind to, that the journey may be long and imperfect but it is worth it.

2. I became a boxing instructor.

Ever since quitting swimming, I’ve found solace within the bags. Like running, boxing has shown me my strength in different ways. It’s become my outlet, my therapy.
