I re-read my list about love, and you’re everything that I was looking for

I read my list about love — something I had written on ThoughtCatalog two whole years ago.

I read it, and I realized that it still holds true.

As much as I’ve changed, as much as I’ve gone through, I’m still looking for someone who’s bright and spontaneous, who’s quiet and welcoming, who smiles when I smile and laughs when I laugh and understands me maybe a little bit more than I understand myself.

Someone to ground me, someone to lift me up.

I read it, and I realized that although I knew you when I wrote that, I didn’t know you like I do now. I didn’t know that you were exactly what I was looking for.

I didn’t know you would think it’s cute that I cry during probably every movie known to existence, because there’s something so human in them all that touches the deepest parts of my heart.

I didn’t know that you wouldn’t mind if my hair gets in your face when we sleep or basically all the time, because it is quite literally a beast of its own.

I didn’t know you would help me cook breakfast, or watch and smile as I don’t actually burn anything I cook, because my skills have improved with practice.
