I’ve felt the same way — I remember one time in high school, someone heard me speaking Chinese and told me it sounded “uglier” compared to Romance languages like Spanish and French. I stopped going to Saturday Chinese school after middle school ended and told my mom to pack me “American” food instead of fried rice or any other Asian dishes. It’s something that I’d love to relearn — the characters are hard though!
